Joint Team Arrests 3 Residents Related To Persecution Of Brioda Oktovianus To Death

JAYAPURA - Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Adi Prabowo, said a joint team from the Yahukimo Police and the Cartenz Peace Task Force arrested three people related to the death of Bripda Oktovianus Buara (23 years old) as a result of being persecuted.

"The three people who were arrested were UH (18), ARH (19) and RW (21), and Yahukimo Police investigators in Dekai, they are still asking for information from them," said Kombes Benny in Jayapura, quoted by ANTARA.

From the report received by Bripda Oktovianus Buara, Tuesday (16/4) morning he was found dead with injuries all over his body.

"The victim, who served at the Yahukimo Police Station, was found dead covered in blood due to injuries by an unknown person (OTK) at the fork in the road around the Block B shophouse, Jalan Papua, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, Tuesday morning (16/4) and after relocation, the body was evacuated to Jayapura," explained Kombes Benny.

Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Heru Hidayanto separately said investigators are currently still investigating and have carried out a crime scene investigation to uncover the case.

Members also conducted a sweep around the incident area as an effort to pursue the perpetrators, conduct investigations and deepening to reveal the perpetrators and their motives.

"Hopefully, from the statements of the three people who were arrested, investigators can arrest the perpetrators who abused the victim to death," hoped Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Heru Hidayanto.

The body of Bripda Oktovianus Buara, Tuesday afternoon at around 15:40 WIT arrived at Sentani airport, Jayapura Regency, Papua using a Trigana Air plane from Dekai.

Arriving at the airport, the body was immediately taken to the funeral home of Nafri, Jayapura City and Wednesday (17/4) is scheduled to be buried in Bonggo, Sarmi Regency, Papua.
