Former Official: Israel Will Not Respond To Iran's Interim Attack

JAKARTA - Iran's attack on Israel will not be responded to for a while. This is because the country will return to focus on its planned attack on Rafah in Gaza, Palestine.

This was conveyed by former director of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alon Liel to Aljazeera, Sunday, April 14.

Liel mentioned the reason why there has been no decision and official approval from Israel's cabinet of war. He added that over the next 24 hours, the situation in his country will calm down again.

"We already know that the war cabinet has not approved a response and America has a big hand in this, so it seems Israel will not respond for a while and we will return to our affairs in Gaza," Liel said.

He noted Prime Minister Netanyahu still needs to finish two things in Gaza: the release of prisoners and the 'batalyon Hamas'.

I think Netanyahu may have used a wave of support for Israel during Iran's attack to attack Rafah. But he couldn't do that without fully coordinating with America. This is a problem that really bothered him, because without returning to Rafah he couldn't describe war as a win." he said.
