Peak Route Traffic Jams, Backflow Homecomers From Cianjur Directed Through Jonggol

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Resort Police, West Java, directed the evictions with the aim of Bogor, Jakarta and so on to take alternative routes from Jonggol and Sukabumi to avoid queues on the Puncak route in line with the implementation of the one-way system from Bogor to Cianjur.

Head of the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit AKP Anjar Mulyana said that from morning to noon, the Bogor Police imposed a one-way system leading to Cianjur starting from leaving the Ciawi to Puncak Pass to increase the queue of vehicles from Cianjur to Bogor.

"The one-way system to Cianjur from Bogor is an effort to anticipate traffic jams in the Bogor area, which since the last three days the volume has increased, dominated by vehicles for tourist purposes. The flow of vehicles from Cianjur cannot pass until queues in the Bogor area melt," he said as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, April 14.

In order to anticipate total traffic jams on the Puncak route in line with the implementation of the one-way system, officers at each security post direct motorists, especially drivers with the aim of Bogor, Jakarta and so on, to take the alternative Jonggol or Sukabumi route so as not to be trapped in line.

Officers at the security post starting from Haurwangi and the Gentur Lamp Monument roundabout will direct motorists not to cross the Puncak route because a one-way system is being implemented from Bogor to disburse the queues of vehicles in the area, such as the previous day which caused the long queue of vehicles up to 8 kilometers to not move.

"To avoid the same thing happening today along with the peak of the second homecoming flow, officers carried out blockages on a number of main roads and directed visitors to take alternative routes so that there would be no total traffic jams on the Puncak route like last Saturday (13/4)," he said.

AnTARA monitoring until Sunday afternoon queued vehicles from Cianjur to Bogor continued to lengthen with a queue tail of about 3 kilometers.

Officers from the Cianjur Police were forced to carry out flow engineering, including directing motorists to alternative routes in the Puncak and Cipanas areas.

Entering D+3 of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri, the volume of passing vehicles continues to increase, dominated by visitors and tourists who want to vacation in the Puncak-Cianiur area.

Officers and a team of traffic jams carried out a calf fence on the Puncak route to anticipate total traffic jams as the previous day when thousands of motorists were stuck in traffic for eight hours.
