JAKARTA - Israeli army forces on Friday evening 12 April again arrested 50 Palestinians in attacks carried out during Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri in the occupied West Bank area.
A number of children, apart from being former detainees, were also arrested, according to a joint statement from the Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society.
"As reported by ANTARA, Saturday, April 13, the arrests took place in the cities of Tulkarm, Tubas, Hebron, Beit Lahm and Jerusalem," the statement read.
The new action increased the number of Palestinians detained by Israelis in the West Bank to 8,218 since October 2023, according to Palestinian data.
The situation in the West Bank has been heating up since Israel launched a deadly military attack on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on 7 October.
At least 463 Palestinians were killed and more than 4,750 others injured by Israeli troops in occupied territories, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
