Police Chief, Minister Of Transportation Asks For Help To Immediately Raid Bodong Travel

The Ministry of Transportation asked the National Police to conduct strict raids on providing non-procedural or dark travel tour services. This is the aftermath of a fatal accident at KM 58 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

"So I ask the Police to carry out law enforcement, so that they can provide illegal travel action with raids," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in Tangerang, Banten, Friday, April 12.

According to him, the incident or deadly accident that occurred on Monday (08/04) became an evaluation material for the entire world of transportation modes in Indonesia.

Budi said that in the accident with the burning Gran Max minibus, it was known that it was an illegal travel service, based on an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC). The accident killed 12 people.

The accident was allegedly triggered by the fatigue of a driver driving a car for four trips and the capacity of an insufficient number of passengers.

The Minister of Transportation appealed to travelers who use travel to find official agents, not unofficial ones. In order to maintain traffic safety during the trip.

"So travelers should not force them to carry out activities using illegal travel, if it is later known, don't blame the officers for playing back. Passengers should also be able to choose the condition of the vehicle (transportation)," he said.

In its report, the NTSC stated that the cause was the Grand Max driver, who was an unofficial travel vehicle, working beyond time.

KNKT chairman Soerjanto Tjahjono said, judging from the driver's working time, the driver's working time exceeds the predetermined working time so that it is estimated that the driver lacks rest time.
