The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Hong Kong confirmed that two Indonesian citizens (WNI) died in an apartment building fire in Kowloon District, Hong Kong on Wednesday (10/4).

"The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong has coordinated with the local police and it was identified that two Indonesian citizens were victims of death, a man and a woman," said a written statement from the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 12.

A fire broke out in an apartment building in Kowloon District, Hong Kong, Wednesday, April 10.

The accident claimed 5 deaths and about 43 injuries while the cause of the fire is still under police investigation.

"The two victims work in the hospitality sector at Ritz Carlton Hong Kong," said the statement from the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong.
