The US Concerns The Many Muslim Communities Suffer From Conflicts Amidst Eid

JAKARTA - United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken hopes that the momentum of Eid al-Fitr 1445 H which is celebrated by Muslims around the world will be a momentum to realize a safer and more peaceful future in the world.

"I would like to wish the Muslim community a happy Eid al-Fitr wherever they are and participate in hoping that a safer and more peaceful world will be realized," Blinken said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 10.

In a speech from Eid Al-Fitr Blinken delivered by the US Embassy, he expressed concern that many Muslim communities were suffering from the conflict and suffering that occurred in their country.

"They were forced to go through Eid al-Fitr with their families in an uneasy condition due to the ongoing conflict," he said.

Our thoughts are on the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank as well as civilians in Syria, Blinken said.

He also highlighted the fate of Uighur Muslims in China, Rohingya in Myanmar and Bangladesh, as well as women under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

Blinken also expressed concern that too many people had lost their loved ones due to the conflict and many more were concerned about the safety and security of their family in the past year.

"Therefore, I hope this year's Eid al-Fitr can mark the moment towards a more hopeful, free and peaceful future," he said.

In addition, he reaffirmed the commitment of the United States to defend human rights around the world and provide humanitarian assistance to anyone in dire need. Blinken also stated his party's commitment to realizing sustainable peace, dignity and safety for all groups of society.
