Bahlil Regarding The Proposal To Summon President Jokowi At The Constitutional Court Session: Never Mind, Too Much

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia said the Constitutional Court's (MK) proposal to summon President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the 2024 presidential election dispute trial was excessive.

Bahlil assessed that these efforts were not needed because the testimony of four ministers on Friday, April 5 was considered sufficient.

"Never mind, too much. You say that social assistance is not in the budget after it is explained so new," said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace, Monday, April 8.

Even so, Bahlil understands that all decisions are in the hands of the panel of judges in the 2024 presidential election dispute trial. "But I'm sure it's too far away, that's it," he said.

"I was also asked at that time to be present, right, that was also my name mentioned. Yes, the judge knows the rules, knows the mechanism. Not everything that my friends asked was also fulfilled by the judge," continued Bahlil.

As previously reported, the pair camp number three, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD asked President Jokowi to be presented at the election dispute trial. However, the Constitutional Court (MK) decided not to do so because it was considered not good.

Instead, the Constitutional Court only summoned four ministers, namely Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlanggara Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini on Friday, April 5.

"Calling the head of state for the president of the Republic of Indonesia does not seem good because the president and head of state and head of government," said Arief during a trial at the Constitutional Court (MK), Friday, April 5.

In addition, the Constitutional Court considers the position of president to be a symbol of the state that must be upheld. "So we call his assistants and their assistants related to the petitioner's argument," said Arief.
