Korlantas Polri Evaluation Of The Implementation Of Contraflow After The Gran Max Deadly Accident Of The Cikampek Toll Road

The National Police Traffic Corps has stopped the implementation of contraflow traffic engineering on the KM 47 - KM 70 Jakarta-Cikampek toll road toll road in the context of evaluation after the Gran Max accident that killed 12 people.

"Meanwhile, we are temporarily stopping the contraflow for Eid homecoming while waiting for the next evaluation process," said Head of Traffic Police Inspector General Aan Suhanandi at KM 58 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 8.

Traffic accidents on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road contraflow KM 58 involve three vehicles, namely Primajasa Bus number B-7655-TGD, Gran Max number B-1635-BKT and Daihatsu Terios.

Two vehicles, namely Daihatsu Terios and Gran Max, were burned to the ground in the incident.

This accident began when the car from the direction of Jakarta took the contraflow route on the Cikampek KM 58 Toll Road.

However, the Gran Max car swerved and hit the bus to Bandung-Jakarta. Then, another car came trying to avoid it, but hit the car that had previously hit the bus.

"We are sorry for the incident that just happened in an accident that resulted in the death of the victim and two vehicles on fire," said Aan.

Meanwhile, to facilitate the flow from Jakarta, and from Bandung it was directed to class A, namely South Cikampek to reduce the fatality burden in Cikampek.

Korlantas appealed to the public, before traveling, make sure the condition of the driver and vehicle is prime, concentrate while driving, always be careful, obey signs, do not carry passengers and goods exceeding the vehicle's capacity, and rest when you feel tired.

"For drivers to prepare body conditions, if you are tired, please stop, don't force it because it is dangerous, so please, travelers and drivers pay attention to health," said Aan.
