JAKARTA - The Vietnamese Supreme Court (MA) proposed a Draft Law (RUU) to reduce the maximum prison sentence imposed on minors to 15 years from the previous 18 years.

The threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 15 years and nine years also applies to minors who commit more than one crime and are subject to imprisonment as a joint sentence.
In addition, based on the bill, the scope of application of temporary detention of teenage perpetrators will be narrowed.
