Prevent Traffic Jams At Dawuan Km 66, Jasamarga Ready To Operate South Japek II Toll Road Sadang-Kutanegara Route

JAKARTA - The Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South Toll Road segment of the 8.5 kilometer Sadang-Kutanegara segment will be prepared as a functional route during the 2024 Eid holiday homecoming period.

"This toll functional channel is ready to be opened to help reduce vehicle density at the Dawuan Flats Intersection of kilometer 66," said PT Jasamarga South Japek (JJS) President Director Charles Lendra in a statement received on Sunday, April 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

Density could have occurred because to note, the Dawuan kilometer 66 intersection is a traffic meeting point from the direction of Bandung and its surroundings which passes through the Cipularang Toll Road and traffic from the direction of Trans Java which passes through the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

Only, according to him, when operating the functional toll road will follow the discretion of the police by considering the current traffic situation.

Or in other words, the diversion of traffic flow to the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Functional Path is carried out if there is a density condition at kilometer 66 the Jakarta-Cikampek section reaches several agreed indicators.

These indicators include, among others, the functional route is only opened when there is vehicle density up to kilometer 70 of the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (from the Palimanan direction) and kilometer 72 of the Cipularang Toll Road (from the direction of Bandung) for one hour.

Furthermore, if there is a density in Kalihurip Utama GT along 5 kilometers (achieving a kilometer 72 of Cipularang segment) for one hour, and also ensuring that there is no traffic congestion on the arterial route after access is out of the functional lane.

"This functional path will still be closed if the indicator does not occur, but situationally it can be operated according to the discretion of the Police," he said.

Charles added, to enter the functional route, road users can prepare ahead of Ramp 8 access to enter the functional route located at KM 77 of the Cipularang Toll Road towards Jakarta.

Vehicles from the direction of Bandung can choose an alternative SS Sadang-Kutanegara road if the functional route is opened.

He ensured to make it easier for travelers, his party provided instructions before and after access to and from the functional route which was also accompanied by several steering officers.

The functional route for the Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road is not subject to tariffs, but road users still have to make payments at the Kutanegara Toll Gate.

At the toll gate, road users pay the toll tariffs for the Cipularang Toll Road and Padalarang-Cileunyi Toll Road (Padaleunyi). "If you travel from the toll gate on the Padaleunyi Toll Road, with the same amount of tariff if the user makes a way out through GT Sadang, Cipularang Toll Road," he said.
