Whistleblower Gathan Saleh Arrested While Attending Reconstruction Of Shooting Case In Jatinegara

JAKARTA - The Mampang Prapatan Police forcibly picked up Muhamad Andika Mowardi. He was picked up on suspicion of threatening by cell phone against a man with the initials T.

Mampang Prapatan Police Chief, Commissioner David Kanito confirmed the information. He was forcibly picked up because he had been absent twice from the summons.

"We were forcibly picked up because we had been called and were not present twice," said David when confirmed, Friday, April 5.

Andika was reported to the Mampang Prapatan Police on October 18, 2023, then. He was reported on suspicion of threats via cellular phones.

"The report is about threats," he explained.

In addition, Andika also often threatens to ask the reporter for money by telephone. He asked for hundreds of millions.

"Threatened, it was said that his secret would be revealed later, even though he didn't know what the secret was. But this makes people uncomfortable. Then he cheated, if he didn't meet me, I would be circumcised of you. He asked for hundreds of millions," he said.

Regarding why Andika was forcibly picked up after the reconstruction in East Jakarta, said David, he was not at his house. It turned out that when he checked he was being a reporter at the East Jakarta Metro Police.

"The person is missing, we have not been to his house, there is no rented house. Then we monitored him, it turned out that he was a reporter in East Jakarta. As soon as we checked there, when it was reconstructed, we finally picked him up," he concluded.

For information, Muhamad Andika Mowardi is the reporter for the shooting case against Ghatan Saleh. Ghatan was summoned by the police twice, but he was absent.

Ghatan Saleh is said to have fled after the shooting. He was finally arrested while in a workshop in the Tajur area, South Bogor, Bogor City, on Wednesday, February 28.

In that case, Ghatan has been named a suspect on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

He was named on suspicion of shooting at a shophouse in the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta.
