JAKARTA - The fake police officer with the rank of AKP who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police are known as Widarto (56). Before becoming a fake policeman, Widarto made a living by becoming a broker in a number of areas of the One-Stop (Samsat) Administration System in the DKI Jakarta area.

The perpetrator, Widarto, admitted that he could become a broker in various regions and the action went smoothly.

"Working at Samsat, where are the Samsat brokers, Daan Mogot area, East Jakarta, North Jakarta," the perpetrator told reporters, Thursday, April 4.

The man from Semarang admitted that he had often been a fake policeman.

"I just need to ride with my brother. But if I wear this police uniform, after I wear it, I'll wear a jacket so I don't look like it. Anyway, no one knows I'm like this (being a fake policeman)," he said.

Widarto said that when he wore a police uniform only at certain times, namely on holidays or holidays. Because according to him, at that time the community would give him a gift or THR, and it had been done for one year.

"I use this (police uniform) when it's like a new year, it's a crowded position, there must be a new year there will be someone who will give gifts, sometimes it's like cake," he said.

Duren Sawit Police Chief, AKP Sutikno said the perpetrator admitted to buying uniforms at Senen Market, Central Jakarta for IDR 270 thousand.

"After checking, it turned out that it was true that there was a man whose identity was seen claiming to be Widarto wearing a police uniform, and after checking his identity was not a police officer, it turned out that he was a fake policeman," he said.

Sutikno revealed that the perpetrator was also proven to have asked the THR for the Eid al-Fitr 2024 trip to the shop.

"The perpetrator asked for a parcel or THR Eid at the time of the incident, but the rest we are still investigating," he said.
