DKI Provincial Government Prepares Nearly IDR 1 Trillion Fund For The 2024 Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA - The National Unity and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol) of DKI Jakarta Province has prepared a grant of IDR 975 billion or almost IDR 1 trillion to the General Election Commission (KPU) for the implementation of the DKI Governor Election (Pilgub).

"The regional government will definitely help organize elections in terms of funding prepared by 975 billion to be submitted to the KPU," said Head of the DKI Jakarta National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol) Taufan Bakri Tuesday, April 2.

The provision of funds was conveyed in the socialization of the 2024 DKI Governor and Deputy Governor Election stages. Taufan said the disbursement in the first phase was December 19, 2023, namely 40 percent worth IDR 390 billion. Meanwhile, the remaining 60 percent or IDR 585 billion will be disbursed in the second stage, namely June or July 2024.

Meanwhile, his party is still fulfilling the DKI DPRD's summons regarding grant funds for the DKI Jakarta KPU. "It's just a KPU that asks us to do the second phase of the search process, quite a number of around 500 billion," he said.

In addition to financial assistance, Taufan said that there were a number of assistance provided by the DKI provincial government ahead of the preparation of the gubernatorial election, starting from population data, conducting surveillance to establishing a Pilkada post.

The purpose of the post is to maintain order between teams successfully during the DKI gubernatorial election.

"Posko can run, one of which is with many members from the Regional Police, Kodam Jaya, the prosecutor's office, SKPD related to KPU, Bawaslu and other elements of society," he said.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia will hold Simultaneous 2024 regional head elections (Pilkada) in 37 provinces and 508 regencies/cities in Indonesia.

The following is the schedule for the 2024 Pilkada:

1. 27 February-16 November 2024: notification and registration of election monitors;

2. April 24-May 31, 2024: handing over a list of potential voters;

3. May 5, August 19, 2024: fulfillment of the requirements for support for individual candidate pairs;

4. May 31-September 23, 2024: updating and compiling of voter lists;

5. 24-26 August 2024: announcement of registration of candidate pairs;

6. 27-29 August 2024: registration of candidate pairs;

7. 27 August-21 September 2024: research on candidate requirements;

8. September 22, 2024: determination of candidate pairs;

9. September 25-23 November 2024: campaign implementation;

10. November 27, 2024: the implementation of the vote;

11. 27 November-16 December 2024: vote count and vote count recapitulation.
