Disdikbud Kaltara Waits For Circular About Scouts Not Mandatory To Be Extraculular

TANJUNG SELOR - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) issued Permendikbud Number 12 of 2024 concerning the curriculum in PAUD, basic education levels and secondary education levels which states that extra curricule scouting is not mandatory.

Responding to the decision, the North Kalimantan Education Office (Kaltara) is still waiting officially for the Permendikbud or the circular.

"We study regulations first, especially since we have not received a circular letter from the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation," said Head of the North Kalimantan Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud), Teguh Henri Sutanto, Tuesday, April 2.

Teguh assessed that Scouts as an extracurricular activity are still needed. Moreover, previously the Ministry of Education and Culture had issued Permendikbud Number 63 of 2024 concerning Scouts, which is one of the school's extracurricular activities and is required to be attended by students in primary and secondary education.
