Father Magnis: President Distributes Social Assistance Support For Certain Paslons Like Thieves In Shops

JAKARTA - Professor of Philosophy at the Driyakara Philosophy College (STF), Franz Magnis Suseno or Father Magnis likens the president's actions to distribute social assistance (Bansos) in the interest of winning certain candidate pairs (paslon) in the contestation of the Presidential Election (Pilpres) like thieves.

He made this statement when he became an expert on Ganjar-Mahfud at the General Election Results Presence (PHPU) trial at the Constitutional Court (MK), Tuesday, April 2.

Initially, Father Magnis said that social assistance did not belong to the president but to the Indonesian nation. The process of distributing it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

If the president uses his power to make social assistance and distribute it in order to support certain candidate pairs, then, the leader of the country is like a thief.

"So it's similar to an employee who secretly takes cash from the shop treasury, so it's a theft, it's a violation of ethics," said Father Magnis.

The president's actions are considered to be categorized as a violation of severe ethics. In fact, it is considered that he has lost basic ethical insights about his position as president

"Violating ethical demands that he is without discrimination is the president of all citizens including politicians," said Father Magnis.
