Xi Jinping: China Willing To Maintain Cooperation With RI

JAKARTA - Chinese President Xi Jinping said China is willing to maintain close cooperation with Indonesia, especially in terms of state governance and development strategies.

According to a written statement from the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta, President Xi Jinping conveyed this when meeting with the elected Indonesian president, Prabowo Subianto, at the People's Agung Hall in Beijing.

"China views China-Indonesia's relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, is willing to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation with Indonesia, form a community with the same fate as China-Indonesia which has regional and global influences," Xi Jinping said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 1.

Xi Jinping said China would continue to promote the Two Countries, Twin Parks' and Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridors' projects, strengthen maritime cooperation with Indonesia, and provide support to Indonesia in poverty alleviation.

The Head of State of China also emphasized that the key to achieving valuable achievements in relations between the two countries lies in strategic independence, mutual trust and mutual assistance, mutually beneficial cooperation, and justice and equality.

Xi Jinping continued, the two countries must strictly follow the development channels that are in accordance with their respective national conditions, firmly supporting each other in maintaining sovereignty, security and development interests.

In addition, he said that Indonesia and China must also understand and support issues that involve their respective core interests and main interests.

Xi said China was willing to work with Indonesia to maintain the unity and centrality of ASEAN, maintain an open and inclusive regional structure, form a community with the same fate as China-ASEAN, which is closer.

Xi Jinping said that the two countries should actively implement five principles of peaceful coexistence, with all their might expressing the spirit of Bandung which is united, friendly and cooperative.

Furthermore, he encouraged the existence of equal and regular world multipolarization, inclusive economic globalization, increasing multilateral coordination and maintaining the common interests of developing countries.
