JAKARTA - University of Indonesia (UI) economist Faisal Basri said that the three ministers of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi were the most vulgar in politicizing social assistance (bansos) during the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

The three of them include the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of Investment, Bahlil Lahadalia; and Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan.

"So, the money is already there, but the magnet is lacking, it must be aimed at those who give it demonstratively, then Airlangga Hartato, for example, many other ministers, but the most vulgar ones, Airlangga Hartatto, Bahlil and Zulkifli Hasan," said Faisal at the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) trial at the Constitutional Court, Monday, April 1.

The three ministers politicized social assistance by saying that President Jokowi gave it.

For example, the form of social assistance politicization carried out by Airlangga Hartarto, namely conveying that the provision of assistance came from Jokowi's donation.

So, you have to be grateful and choose the party supported by Jokowi during the 2024 presidential election.

"I show, for example, Airlangga Hartato, who said that this was Pak Jokow's donation, therefore he had to thank Pak Jokowi by choosing what Pak Jokowi supported," he said.

Regarding Bahlil, said Faisal, the Minister of Investment had asked Tri Rismaharini, who is the Minister of Social Affairs, to convey data on social assistance recipients.

It is known, this was a spotlight because the provision of social assistance during the 2024 presidential election did not use data from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"It was also said by the investment minister that Bahlil brought it, please make it yourself, Mrs. Risma, think about all the ministers of their mentality, their morality is like him, Mrs. Risma doesn't, she doesn't want to politicize social assistance," said Faisal.
