MEDAN - A man from Binjai City, North Sumatra was arrested by the Jatanras Unit of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Medan Police, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) for taking away a junior high school student (SMP) for 10 days. During his detention, the victim had been sexually assaulted several times by the perpetrator in his rented house.

Jama revealed that the victim had been with the perpetrator for almost 10 days and was invited to live in the same house. They then had sex like husband and wife.

Jama explained that the victim initially left the house and on Wednesday, March 20. Then the family tried to find the victim and it was not found until the victim's biological father came to the Mepolrestabes Medan to report the victim's disappearance.

"So after we received a report from the victim's parents, we immediately formed a joint team with the North Sumatra Police to conduct an investigation and pursuit," he explained.

To account for his actions, MFM has now been named a suspect and is languishing in the detention cell of the Medan Police Headquarters, North Sumatra.

The suspect will be subject to article in Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection which carries a penalty of 15 years in prison.
