Bali Transportation Agency Asks People To Choose Official Transportation During Eid Homecoming 2024

The Bali Transportation Agency (Dishub) appealed to people who plan to go home for Lebaran 2024 to use public transportation to choose vehicles that have official stickers attached. This was conveyed by the Head of Road Transportation Division of the Bali Transportation Agency, Nyoman Sunarya, in Denpasar, Bali, on Saturday, March 30.

According to Nyoman Sunarya, public transportation, especially the inter-provincial type (AKAP), which has been given a sticker with the words "LLAJ Safety Inspection of the Directorate General of Hubdat-Kemenhub" is an official transportation that has been confirmed to be suitable for use.

"We hope that the public will use official public transportation and have gone through surveillance to avoid unwanted things," he said.

This supervision process is carried out through ramp checks, which means the vehicle has gone through thorough inspection and supervision by the authorities. The Bali Transportation Agency gave directions to the public to ensure that the vehicle used had gone through the process before leaving.

Nyoman Sunarya revealed that the ramp check process had been carried out since last week. However, there are still some AKAP buses that did not pass the initial inspection, but after being repaired, the vehicle was re-examined to ensure its feasibility.

Some findings during the examination included damage to the front lights, automatic glass cleaners, and non-functional sein lights, which then had to be repaired before being used.

The Bali Transportation Agency emphasized that this directive was not only addressed to prospective travelers, but also to service providers who enforce inappropriate use of vehicles by offering low prices to attract public interest.

"At low prices, don't let things outside of supervision happen, such as strikes or accidents. We hope that people choose transportation according to the rules and permits," he added.

In anticipation of a surge in travelers in Lebaran 2024, the Bali Transportation Agency cooperates with the Land Transport Organization (Organda) in data collection and the availability of official public transportation. From a temporary note, there has been an increase in the number of public transportation prepared, with more than 245 available buses, including backup transportation and assistance to tourism buses.

It is estimated that the surge in travelers will occur on April 5-7, 2024, or 3-5 days before Eid al-Fitr, so that the Bali Transportation Agency seeks to ensure the availability of adequate public transportation to serve the needs of the community during Eid homecoming.
