The Ambon Basarnas Is Still Coordinating The Findings Of Four Wowonda Residents Who Are Missing The Tanimbar Sea

AMBON - Basarnas Ambon, Maluku is still coordinating the news of the findings of four of the seven Wowonda residents in Tanimbar Islands Regency who were reported to have had a sea accident and lost contact since March 13, 2024.

"Meanwhile, our members in Tual, Saumlaki (KKT) and Dobo, Aru Islands Regency are still coordinating with related parties," said Public Relations of the Ambon Basarnas Budianto in Ambon, Friday night.

However, he will deliver his release when the report is confirmed to be true, regarding the findings of four of the seven victims found by a fishing vessel in the waters of the Aru Islands on Friday (29/3) at 21.00 WIT.

To note, seven Wowonda residents include Yohanes Salwei (27), Devota Salwaei (13), Yeremias Takndare (42), Yohanes Salwei (27), Tini Skliresy (16), Roberta Matruti (13), and Wisye Matruti (14) initially used a ketinting boat from Wowonda to Tumbur Village Beach, Wertamrian District (KKT).

Their departure was around 15.00 WIT to have a picicnic at the location of Cinta Beach, Tumbur Village, as well as celebrate Yohanes Salwey's birthday.

Furthermore, at 21.30 WIT, the victims were about to return from Tumbur Village to Wowonda by the ketinting boat, but the father of one of the victims who contacted the victim via cell phone asked them to spend the night in Tumbur Village due to poor weather at sea.

But one of the victims on behalf of Jermias Takndare said he had to return to Wowonda Village because there were several children in their group who would take the school exam on March 14, 2024.

However, the ketinting boat used by the victims drifted to the front of Pulau Dua, namely between Lorulun and Atubul villages, Wetamrian District, so that Jeremias victims still had time to send a voice message to one of the residents of Wowonda Village asking his father to pick them up.

So that the Wowonda Village government and the community used a number of long boats to search on March 14, 2024 at around 14:00 WIT but to no avail.
