The West Jakarta Police in collaboration with Grab Indonesia managed to secure a driver who forced passengers to transfer Rp. 100 million.

West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Andri Kurniawan said the Grab driver was secured last night in the Cempaka Putih area after Grab provided location data from observations on the application and task force.

"We have completed the Minutes of Investigation (BAP) and will continue this process." he explained in his official statement, Friday, March 29, 2024.

The management of Grab Indonesia appreciates the rapid response of the police, especially the West Jakarta Metro Police, who have arrested suspects in less than 24 hours.

Director of Operations, Jabodetabek, Grab Indonesia Tyas Widyastuti said that his party hopes that this can give at least a little bit of calm and become the beginning of the resolution at the main passenger request.

"We are grateful that our internal technology and investigation procedures can assist the police in the arrest of the suspect," he explained.
