Attorney General's Office Seized 23 Thousand Hectares Of Nickel Mine Owned By Corruption Suspect Asabri Heru Hidayat

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office, Jampidsus, confiscated 23 thousand hectares of nickel mining belonging to Heru Hidayat (HH), a suspect in a suspected corruption case of financial management and investment funds by PT Asabri (Persero).

"The 23 thousand hectares consist of three nickel mining assets belonging to the HH suspect," Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General's Office, told reporters, Wednesday, March 3.

Leonard explained that the Investigating Team at the Attorney General's Directorate of Investigation for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO confiscated assets belonging to the HH suspect, namely a nickel mining area in the name of PT. Tiga Samudra Perkasa, covering an area of 3,000 hectares, a nickel mining area under the name of PT. Mahkota Nickel Indonesia with an area of 10,000 hectares and a nickel mining area under the name of PT. Tiga Samudra Nickel, covering an area of 10,000 hectares.

The suspect's assets that have been confiscated will be assessed or assessed by the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP) to be calculated as a rescue for state financial losses in the next process.

Previously, the investigating prosecutor Jampidsus, the AGO had also confiscated the assets belonging to the HH suspect in the form of an LNG Aquarius ship on behalf of PT. Hanochem Shipping and a metallic gray Ferrari Type F12 Berlinetta Police Number B-15-TRM in the name of suspect HH.

The confiscation of the assets of the other suspects is still being traced in collaboration with the Asset Tracking Center, both at home and abroad.

Apart from the assets belonging to the suspect HH, the investigating prosecutor Jampidsus from the AGO has also confiscated 17 bus assets belonging to the suspect Sonny Widjaya (SW).

So far, the Attorney General's Office Jampidsus has named 9 suspects in the investigation of suspected corruption cases in the management of finance and investment funds by PT. Armed Forces Insurance of the Republic of Indonesia (Asabri).

The nine suspects were Director of PT Asabri for the period 2011 - March 2016 Major General (Ret.) Adam Rachmat Damiri, Director of PT Asabri for the period March 2016 - July 2020 Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Sonny Widjaja, Finance Director of PT Asabri for the period October 2008-June 2014 Bachtiar Effendi.

Then Director of PT Asabri for the period 2013 - 2014 and 2015 - 2019 Hari Setiono, Head of the Investment Division of PT Asabri July 2012 - January 2017 Ilham W Siregar, Managing Director of PT Prima Network Lukman Purnomosidi and Director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations Jimmy Sutopo.

The other suspects were Managing Director of PT Hanson International Tbk Benny Tjokrosaputro and Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat. Both Benny and Heru are suspects in the corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.

This case caused a loss of Rp23.73 trillion in state finances. The state losses in this case were far greater than in the Jiwasraya case.
