Surakarta Satpol PP Orders New Money Traders On Highways

SOLO - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Surakarta City, Central Java, has brought order to new money traders on the highway so as not to disturb motorists.

"The first is when someone sells on the protocol road, such as Jalan Adi Sucipto, Jalan Slamet Riyadi, and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, we encourage them to sell in front of the Telkom Office (Jalan Mayor Kusmanto). So just gather there," said Acting Head of the Surakarta City Satpol PP and Secretary of the Surakarta City Satpol PP Didik Anggono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 28.

He said the control had been carried out for the past two days. From the patrols that have been carried out, the number of new money traders is not as much as in previous years.

"There are only three people on Slamet Riyadi Street, two people on Captain Mulyadi Street," he said.

However, it is estimated that ahead of Eid, the number of new money traders will increase.

Related to this, his party conducts education to both traders and the general public.

"Yes, actually we are in education. First we tell you that the place is not there, secondly, if their location is on the road, it will disturb motorists," he said.

Previously, the Head of Implementation of BI Rupiah Money Management at the Surakarta Representative Office, Anang Dwi Mau Asharli, said that BI continues to strive to remind the public that exchanging new money from money traders is very risky, including being subject to counterfeit money and inappropriate calculations.

"There has been an incident like that, it turns out that what was obtained was not 100 sheets. For traders there was also a risk, they were robbed several times, it was also a number of times that people seemed to want to buy but instead robbed them," he said.

His party is also ready to coordinate with relevant agencies such as Satpol PP and the Police if the existence of money traders interferes with road users.

"Later, if for example there is an incident that is massive and disrupts traffic, maybe BI will ask the Satpol PP and the Police to be prepared to control it because it interferes with roads," he said.
