KPU Asks The Constitutional Court To Decide On Prabowo-Gibran To Win The 2024 Presidential Election

The General Election Commission (KPU) has requested that the judges of the Constitutional Court (MK) decide that Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka will remain the winners of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) contestation.

The application was submitted by the Head of the KPU Legal Team, Hifdzil Alim, in a follow-up trial of disputes or Disputes over General Election Results (PHPU) with the agenda of responding to the petitioner's petition, Thursday, March 28.

"The Respondent appealed to the Constitutional Court to pass the following decision; State that it is true and the General Election Commission's decision no. 360/2024 concerning the Determination of the General Election Results of the President and Vice President, members of the DPR, DPD, Provincial DPRD/City Nationally in the 2024 General Election dated March 20, 2024," said Hifdzil.

It is known, in the decision issued by the KPU, the Prabowo-Gibran pair won the 2024 presidential election contestation. The presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2 received 96,214,691 votes.

In addition, the KPU also requested that the Constitutional Court judge determine the results of the 2024 presidential election vote count.

"Determining the vote acquisition resulting from the general election of the president and vice president in 2024 is correct as follows; Anies-Muhaimin pair 40,971,906, Prabowo-Gibran 96,214,691, Ganjar-Mahfud 27,040,878. The total votes are valid 164,227,475," said Hifdzil.

Not to forget, the KPU also requested that the Constitutional Court reject all applications submitted by the Anies-Muhaimin camp and the Ganjar-Mahfud camp.

"Receive the respondent's exception in its entirety. To declare the petitioner's application unacceptable," said Hifdzil.

Meanwhile, the Anies-Cak Imin and Ganjar-Mahfud camps sued the results of the 2024 presidential election to the Constitutional Court. They asked for the 2024 presidential election to be repeated.

In addition, Anies-Cak Imin also requested that the Constitutional Court decide that the presidential election be held again without Gibran's involvement as a contestant.

Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud requested that the presidential election be held again no later than June 26, 2024 without Prabowo-Gibran.
