JAKARTA - The provinces of DKI Jakarta and West Java are said to no longer have districts / cities with a high risk zone for COVID-19 or a red zone.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the five administrative cities and the Thousand Islands Regency were no longer the status of the red zone. According to Riza, this condition is due to the coordination of handling COVID-19 between DKI and the central government.

"Alhamdulillah, the central COVID-19 Handling Task Force said that Jakarta is no longer included in the red zone group. We are grateful for all of this thanks to good cooperation between the center and the regions, with the buffer areas as well," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Wednesday, 3 March.

Currently, the cure rate for COVID-19 in DKI is 96.6 percent, and the death rate is 1.6 percent. Then, the use of isolation beds was 63 percent and the ICU was 69 percent.

"Hotels also continued to decline, 39.8 percent. In fact, hotels continued to fall, which previously had a waiting list. So, thank God, this is all our cooperation," said Riza.

Separately, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil also said that this week there are no regencies / cities in the area that are included in the red zone. This condition is the first time this has occurred after cases have continued to increase.

"This week is the first time in this year that there are no municipalities in the red zone. Alhamdulillah, after months of ups and downs, and in the last 4 weeks there is still one, then this week there is no red zone in West Java for the regency / city level," he explained. Kang Emil, his nickname.

Kang Emil said, this positive development was due to the implementation of micro PPKM. Therefore, Kang Emil set PPKM micro as a new adaptation by managing area-based cases on a small scale.

"We want to strive for this micro PPKM as a new adaptation because it manages cases based on small areas. Where, two weeks earlier there were 28 thousand weekly cases, yesterday only 10 thousand," he said.
