Anticipating Cheating, Karawang Regent Sidak Gas Station On The Homecoming Route

JAKARTA - Karawang Regent Aep Syaepuloh together with the District Attorney's Office and the Karawang Regency Police conducted a surprise inspection of a number of public refueling stations (SPBU) on the homecoming route to anticipate fraudulent practices.

"Through this activity, we want to ensure that not all gas stations in the Karawang area cheat," said the regent, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.

The gas station checking activity on the Karawang arterial road homecoming route was held following the discovery of a gas station cheating practice at the KM 42 Rest Area of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, by the Ministry of Trade, some time ago.

The findings are quite disturbing to the public. So it is necessary to conduct a site review to ensure that there is no similar practice at the Karawang arterial road gas station.

In this activity, the regent and his entourage visited one by one gas stations in the Karawang area, especially in the arterial route which is used as the Lebaran homecoming route.

Among them by visiting two gas stations on the Surotokunto highway. The test results show that the limit is still tolerable. Instead, there is a dispenser machine for non-subsidized Pertamax fuel which has an excess of 30 milliliters in 20 liters of testing.

"Alhamdulillah, the two gas stations in Rawagabus are good. Even though some still use old machines, ropes are still feasible and there is no cheating," said the regent.

Subsequent checks to a number of gas stations on the Pantura route in the Purwasari and Dawuan areas. At him, the gas station was also found to be fraudulent.

"So we are here to convince consumers, it is absolutely guaranteed. Purchases are in accordance with the filling," said Aep.

He asked the metrology sector to really check and test each gas station to prevent fraud in the fuel filling measuring instrument.
