Deceit By Residents Claims To Revoke Reports At The Jembrana Police, Police Arrested

JEMBARANA - Police fired I Putu Adi Guna (46) alias Pak Adi from Jembrana, Bali, was arrested by the police. This man cheated by claiming to be the police who could revoke the case file.

"In the modus operandi, the suspect admitted to being a member of the police and asked the victim to withdraw the case files," said Head of the Jembrana Police Headquarters, AKP Yogie Pramagita, Wednesday, March 3.

This incident occurred on Saturday, February 27 at the Segara Mandala Hotel, Jembrana, Bali. The victim has a debt problem with someone with the initials HT.

Here the perpetrator talks to the victim about the debt and credit case that has been reported to the Jembrana Police. The perpetrator asked for Rp10 million with a claim that he could settle the case without any legal process.

The victim believed it because the perpetrator claimed to be a member of the police. The victim is willing to pay for the revocation of the case file for Rp. 3 million.

However, the suspect contacted the victim asking for the remaining unpaid money.

The victim on February 27 returned to Jembrana to meet the suspect. The victim hands over the money again to the perpetrator.

"The victim handed over an additional withdrawal of case file amounting to Rp2.5 million and was received directly by the suspect," added AKP Yogie.

However, after that the victim confirmed to the Jembrana Police Criminal Investigation Unit to check the presence or absence of a member of the National Police named I Putu Adi Guna alias Pak Adi.

However, it turned out that there was no such name on the list of members of the Jembrana Police. The victim reported to the police because he suffered a loss of Rp.5.5 million.

"Based on the report, the Jembrana Police Unit then carried out an investigation and not long after that was able to secure the suspect and his evidence for further investigation," said AKP Yogie.

The evidence that was confiscated was a cellphone and Rp2.5 million in cash. The suspect is known to have been a convict in an illegal logging case in 2004.

In 2013, the perpetrator was fired from a member of the National Police. "The article being imposed, Article 378 of the Criminal Code, is punishable by a maximum sentence of 4 years," said AKP Yogie.
