The DKI DPRD Wants Their Family To Be Vaccinated With COVID-19 Like The Indonesian Parliament

JAKARTA - All members of the DKI DPRD have participated in the COVID-19 vaccination since last Tuesday, March 2. However, currently, only board members receive vaccine shots.

Therefore, Deputy Chairperson of DKI DPRD, Mohamad Taufik, said that his party wanted the entire nuclear family of council members to also receive phase two vaccination for public service officers. Previously, the families of DPR RI members also received vaccines.

"We just want to ask (DPRD members' family of vaccines) to the Health Office. One family, children and wife. But until now we haven't," said Taufik when contacted, Wednesday, March 3.

Taufik said, the consideration of DPRD members asking for vaccine rations for their families is because they have the same neighborhood.

"I think like this, our family, we meet them every day. Right, we don't protect our environment. We have to take care of our environment. What's wrong?" said Taufik

When asked for confirmation, the Head of the DKI Health Service, Widyastuti, was reluctant to answer. He threw the problem of asking for vaccination of family members of the DKI DPRD to the DPRD Secretariat.

"Ask Setwan (Secretariat of the Council)," said Widyastuti.

As is known, the Indonesian Parliament has been vaccinated against COVID-19 since February 24. Members of the Indonesian Parliament, their families, and their staff receive a shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, explained that members of the DPR RI family do get a quota of the COVID-19 vaccine from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

"We get rations from the Ministry of Health, members of the DPR and the families of registered members. So, the allocation (of the COVID-19 vaccine) is from the Ministry of Health," Dasco told reporters.
