JAKARTA - Private companies that are members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) are ready to pay up to IDR 1 million per person for the financing of the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program or the independent vaccine that is given from the company to employees or laborers for free.

"We have conveyed between Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 1 million for a set of vaccines, for two injections," said Deputy Chairman for International Relations of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 3.

This amount is used to finance two doses of vaccine as well as a set of single-use medical devices used in the injection process.

The Ministry of Health last week issued Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Vaccinations in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic, one of which regulates the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program or independent vaccines carried out by private companies for employees and laborers.

In the Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 10 of 2021, one of which regulates the upper limit of the price of vaccines and the price of vaccination services for the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program determined by the Minister of Health. For now, the price of the vaccine for the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program is not yet known because the product is not yet available.

However, Shinta said that her party has already established communication and cooperation with PT Biofarma as the holding company for the pharmaceutical holding company which will import vaccines related to the distribution system and also the selling price of vaccines.

"For the procurement, it must go through Biofarma, so Kadin has an agreement with Biofarma for the procurement of the vaccine. And has also proposed several private companies to help distribute the cold chain logistics," said Shinta.

Kadin proposed a number of private companies in the pharmaceutical sector that have the infrastructure for vaccine distribution.

Shinta said that Kadin has also collaborated with private health facilities for the implementation of vaccinations because they are not allowed to use government-owned health facilities.

"We have also prepared private (owned) health facilities that are ready for the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program," he said.

The Gotong Royong vaccine is planned to use a vaccine made by Sinopharm from China and also the Pfizer vaccine from the United States. PT Biofarma will import vaccines made by Pfizer while its subsidiary PT Kimia Farma Tbk will import Sinopharm vaccines from China.
