International Narcotics Network Arrested In Asahan, 2 Kg Of Shabu Confiscated

The Asahan Resort Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, North Sumatra thwarted the smuggling of 2 kilograms (kg) of methamphetamine from Malaysia.

The illicit goods are planned to be brought to Silau Village, Silau Laut District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra.

From the results of the arrest, the police arrested a methamphetamine courier from Aceh along with 2 kg of methamphetamine evidence. Police found methamphetamine in his bag.

"The perpetrator with the initials MAB, brought methamphetamine-type narcotics based on orders from the person identified by the Narcotics Directorate in Medan City. The evidence obtained was 2 kilograms of methamphetamine," said Head of Public Relations Kombes, Hadi Wahyudi, Monday, March 25.

Hadi Wahyudi added that his party received information from the public because there was a man who wanted to bring large amounts of methamphetamine from Malaysia to Aceh through the waters of Asahan, North Sumatra.

When they received the information, the police immediately carried out surveillance. The police immediately made an arrest as soon as the perpetrator arrived in their area.

"Based on the information obtained in the field, the perpetrator turned out to be a Malaysian - North Sumatra network. The perpetrator who was arrested by the Asahan Police Narcotics Directorate investigators was one person with the initials MAB," he said.

He explained, from the results of the investigation and provisional examination of the perpetrators, evidence of 2 kilograms of methamphetamine was ordered by a methamphetamine dealer with the initials SUN in Medan.

The plan is for the narcotics to be sent to Aceh Province with a salary of Rp. 30 million. Now investigators from the Asahan Resort Police Narcotics Investigation Unit together with the North Sumatra Police continue to develop a methamphetamine dealer with the initials SUN whose identity has been known.

"The perpetrator is subject to articles on narcotics, the threat of punishment is above ten years in prison," he said.
