Buru Police 7 Detainees In The Theft Case Escaped After Trial At The Cianjur District Court

The Cianjur Police, West Java, are hunting for seven prisoners who escaped after undergoing a trial at Pengandilan Negeri Cianjur, Monday (25/3) evening. The seven people are prisoners with cases of theft with violence and weight.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Aszhari Kurniawan said his party had formed a team to help the Cianjur District Attorney's Office arrest the seven perpetrators with the initials UI, MRT, MAM, AG, RM, RP AND YAR are Cianjur residents.

"The seven detainees who escaped after breaking into the iron catalyst of the Cianjur District Court detention room were perpetrators of theft with weight (Emergency) and violent theft (Curas)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 25.

Currently, a joint team from the Police, the Attorney General's Office and the Cianjur District Court have been deployed to hunt down prisoners who escaped with the target that they could be arrested as soon as possible because officers have pocketed information related to them.

"We are trying to arrest the seven prisoners who escaped after the trial at the Cianjur District Court, they can be arrested immediately," he said.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cianjur Police, AKP Tono Listianto, said that his party had identified the prisoners who had escaped and immediately dispatched a team to help the prosecutor's office and the court chased the perpetrators who were suspected to be still in Cianjur city.

"We will arrest the escaped prisoners in a short time because we have pocketed all the information related to them, we will also coordinate with the West Java Police and the nearest Polres," he said.

Cianjur Public Relations Officer, Erli Yansah, said that she only found out that a detainee had escaped after undergoing trial, where Erli had previously served as a member judge in the trial of the seven people who were perpetrators of the crime of theft.

"There were no irregularities, I still had time to attend the trial of the seven people, after the trial they were returned to the detention room located at the back of the Cianjur District Court, before being returned to prison," he said.

It is suspected that it was not too long after returning to the detention room, the seven detainees fled by breaking into the iron bars of the detention room which is still being investigated for the equipment used.
