PDIP Gives PPP Support Can Escape 4 Percent Parliamentary Threshold

The PDI-P (PDIP) provides support to PPP to be able to pass the 4 percent parliamentary threshold.

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto also revealed that he had met with PPP politician Achmad Baidowi yesterday, Saturday, March 24 morning. He said PDIP's commitment, which has helped PPP from the start until now.

"Since the first vote count, we have invited PPP to work together at the PDIP data center. Even in 2019, last election, we were ordered by Mrs. Mega who held Mbah Maimoen's mandate to help PPP, because of its history. PDIP does not want the history of the Ka'bah party to be removed from the history of this republic," said Hasto in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, March 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

He emphasized that the party bearing the symbol of the white-nosed bull gave the highest solidarity to PPP. The reason is, PDIP does not want to eliminate the existence of the party bearing the Kaaba symbol.

Previously, the national recapitulation of the 2024 legislative elections (pileg) had been completed. Based on manual calculations, there were 8 political parties that won votes above 4 percent, so they passed the parliament, while PPP and PSI did not reach 4 percent.

Based on Article 414 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, it is stated that the requirement for political parties to pass parliament is to meet the parliamentary threshold, which is at least 4 percent of the national vote.

In the 2024 election, the valid votes for the legislative elections nationally were recorded at 151,796,630 from 84 electoral districts (dapil).

According manually to the data that has been announced by the KPU, there are 8 political parties that have won more than 4 percent of the votes. Among them, PDIP, Golkar, Gerindra, PAN, PKB, Democratic Party, PKS, and NasDem.

PPP, whose 2019 election passed parliament, is now in danger of failing to qualify. The national PPP vote achievement was 5,878,777 votes or the equivalent of 3.87 percent of the national valid votes of 151,796,630 votes.
