Anticipating Demak Floods, The National Police Chief Prepares 112 Alternative Paths During Eid Al-Fitr 2024 Homecoming

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said 112 alternative roads had been prepared as an effort to anticipate flood disasters in the Demak area, Central Java, during the Eid Al-Fitr 2024 homecoming flow.

Based on the results of the mapping, 116 flood points were found due to recent high-intensity rain.

"We are also preparing alternative points, there are 116 detected and we have prepared 112 alternative points," Sigit told reporters, Monday, March 25.

Not only preparing, the National Police will also socialize these alternative routes so that people can access them or not get trapped on roads that are affected by flooding.

"Of course we will socialize this so that people can realize the points that are flooded," he said.

"It is our emphasis that every dynamic related to engineering arrangements on the road is to be socialized," he continued.

This step was taken, continued Sigit, because based on the results of coordination with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), rain will still occur in several areas, both high and low intensity.

"Indeed, the weather at the time of the homecoming flow may still be raining with moderate intensity and there is also heavy to light rain," said Sigit.
