Tarakan Police Name 7 Suspects In Election Cases That Become Fugitives

Police showed a photo of seven suspects in Election Violations that are now DPO (IST)

TARAKAN - The Satreskrim of the Tarakan City Police, North Kalimantan (Kaltara), has named seven suspects suspected of committing election violations, namely voting twice at the West Tarakan District TPS.

The seven suspects are Mas'ud, Suryati, Lutfy Zulkarnaen, Nur Alfin Hasanah, Faridah Al-Akhyar, Amriana and Zulkifli. They are also fugitives or on the wanted list (DPO).

"The seven people voted at different polling stations in Karang Anyar Village. During the election on February 14, 2024 at around 12.00 WITA, the complainant received information from the supervisor at TPS 57 that someone had voted at TPS 57 after voting at TPS 58," said Tarakan Police Chief, AKBP Ronaldo Maradona through Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Randhya Sakhthika Putra, Thursday, March 21.

Prior to the determination of the suspect, this case had been discussed by the Gakkumdu team until it was decided that there was a criminal act of election violations committed against the seven suspects.

"The results of the police investigation found tools and evidence in the form of a attendance list, a permanent voter list (DPT) and a special voter list (DPK) listed seven names (suspects) at polling stations 56, 57 and 58. The seven suspects were registered as DPK at TPS 57.

"The police also matched the NIK, and the perpetrator's signature at TPS 57 was the same," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tarakan Police.

The suspect took advantage of the time at 12.00 WITA, when the situation at the TPS was busy.

"At that time the KPPS was busy and the suspect used it to vote. The police had summoned the seven people twice, but were absent, so we entered the DPO," he said.

Satreskrim Polres Tarakan juga telah meminta keterangan terhadap saksi-saksi yang berasal dari KPU Tarakan, Disdukcapil, KPPS TPS 56, 57 dan 58 serta satu ahli pidana Pemilu.

The suspect was charged with Article 516 or Article 533 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections with a threat of 2 years in prison.
