PBNU Invites The Community To Reunit After Determination Of The 2024 Election Results

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Yahya Cholil Staquf invites all parties to reunite after the KPU's determination of the results of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

KH Yahya Cholil Staquf said to undergo the 2024 General Election as a procedure for exercising the right to vote, instead of fighting all out by several parties.

"The result is the result of our voice which also from a religious perspective is a provision from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Therefore, let us set aside all differences yesterday to reunite," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 21.

Moreover, he said, in the momentum of Ramadan it was the right time to apologize to each other and strengthen unity and integrity among the community.

Regarding the election of President Joko Widodo's son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who will serve as vice president with Prabowo Subianto as president, he said the objections had been submitted and heard by the public before the day of the election and the results showed the winning candidate pair number 2.

"Now the results have come out, never mind, we want to repeat the campaign yesterday," he said.

Gus Yahya representing PBNU congratulated Prabowo and Gibran on the victory in the 2024 presidential election, after the KPU determined the results of the 2024 General Election on Wednesday (20/3).

In the context of potential post-election disputes, Gus Yahya called for peace and resolution of the problem wisely.

"Things concerning disputes, let us break it down and find a way out. So that we can solve it all at once," he said.
