JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo said that his party respects the 2024 presidential election process. However, a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court (MK) will be made to straighten democracy.

"The Ganjar-Mahfud team has agreed that if all of this must be straightened out so that democracy can run well, then the last fort is the Constitutional Court," said Ganjar at the GAMA Command Post, Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta, Thursday, February 21.

"And we have prepared a legal team for us to immediately register whether tomorrow or Saturday for us to immediately convey everything we have, which we have prepared to become a constitutional judge's consideration later," he continued.

Ganjar said this lawsuit was filed because there was a lot of information from the public over the past month about the election process. "Many notes have indeed been submitted to us, of course we and the legal team must verify one by one," said the former Governor of Central Java.

One of the information that comes in is related to money politics and intimidation. And I think this is a very good momentum for the panel of judges who will be in the Constitutional Court to show their credibility," he said.

Previously reported, the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia officially appointed presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number two, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabumimg Raka as winners of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Prabowo-Gibran bagged the highest vote of 96,214,691 votes. The decision was announced at the Open Pleno Meeting at the KPU Office, Menteng, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20.

"Decided, to determine the KPU's decision regarding the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate elected in the 2024 election. The number of valid votes for the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka 96,214,691 votes," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari.

While candidate pair number one, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskadar got 40,971,926 votes.

Meanwhile, candidate pair number three, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD only received 27,041,878 votes. The total legal votes for the 2024 presidential election nationally reached 164,227,475 votes.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Pileg was won by the PDI Perjuangan which had the highest votes, namely 25,387,279 votes or the equivalent of 16.72 percent.
