Rumored To Be The Chair Of Golkar, Jokowi: I Am The Chairman Of Indonesia

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a response to the circulating issues regarding him who will serve as chairman of the Golkar Party.

PONTIANAK - President Jokowi, who just made a visit to Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie Hospital, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, laughed when he heard a question from one of the media crew about the issue of him becoming the chairman of the Golkar Party.

"I am currently only the chairman of Indonesia," said President Jokowi jokingly in response to questions from the media crew, as seen in the video uploaded by the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, on Thursday, March 21.

Previously, the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, admitted that there had been no discussion regarding the issue that President Joko Widodo would lead the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

"There has been no discussion yet," said Airlangga at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, on Tuesday.

Airlangga also dismissed the circulating issues regarding the possibility that Jokowi would become the General Chair of the Golkar Party replacing himself. "Who said that?" he said.

Previously, the Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, suggested waiting for an official announcement from the General Elections Commission (KPU) regarding the results of the 2024 General Election, before responding to the issue that President Jokowi would lead the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

Ahmad Doli supports that the coalition of parties is maintained both in the executive and legislature, if the candidate pairs are promoted, namely Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, are declared officially the winners of the 2024 presidential election.

He revealed that there has been talk of Jokowi's role as KIM's leader in the future. What's more, the program that will be implemented by the president and vice president elected for the next 5 years is quite a lot if they refer to their vision and mission.
