Chairman Of PAN Concerning The Position Of Minister: It's Up To Prabowo, He's The President

Chairman of PAN Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) stated that his party did not set the quota for ministerial seats that must be obtained in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet.

Zulhas submitted a decision regarding the quota of ministerial seats for his party to Prabowo Subianto as president-elect. It is known that the Indonesian KPU has announced candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the winner of the 2024 presidential election with 58.58 percent of the votes.

"It's up to him, his president, really," said Zulhas at Prabowo's residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20, evening.

Zulhas emphasized that filling the ministerial seat is the prerogative of the president. Therefore, PAN does not want to interfere in matters that are the president's absolute rights.

"The minister is prerogative of the president. I am a former chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), thank you", he said.

Previously, the Golkar Party bluntly asked for a quota of five ministerial seats in the next government. This is because Golkar feels that it contributes to 25 percent of the total votes obtained by Prabowo-Gibran.

"Because we (Golkar wins) in 15 out of 38 (provinces), then we contribute 25 percent. Well, if 25 percent, distribute a little bit, that's okay. If what we call five is minimalist," said Airlangga in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, Friday, March 15.
