TPN Ganjar-Mahfud Ahead Of The KPU Announces The Results Of The 2024 Presidential Election: The Results Will Live In The Constitutional Court

JAKARTA - The Deputy for Law for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud MD, Todung Mulya Lubis, said that his party was waiting for the announcement of the recapitulation of votes in the 2024 presidential election. Whatever the results are believed to be with a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court (MK).

"We are waiting for the announcement of the final manual results carried out by the KPU and whatever the results will definitely lead to the Constitutional Court. It is impossible or not, because there are winners who lose," Todung told reporters at the GAMA Command Post, Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20.

Todung said that the lawsuit against the Constitutional Court that would be filed was not due to defeat or victory. Our problem is how to save democracy in Indonesia," he said.

He also mentioned democracy in Indonesia as a corrupt democracy based on the writing in the New York Times. So, the lawsuit to the Constitutional Court is deemed necessary to straighten out the current condition.

"We from candidate pair 03 will definitely go to the Constitutional Court. We are ready with our petition, with evidence, with fact witnesses, with the experts we submitted," said the advocate.

"Hopefully the Constitutional Court will provide us with the widest possible opportunity, to all applicants to convey the contents of their petition with all their arguments," continued Todung.

He said it was important for the Constitutional Court to hear the full contents of the petition. "Because if it only limits the voting program and differences in vote acquisition, it will become a regulatory court and it will not solve the problem," he concluded.
