JAKARTA - Member of the General Elections Commission (KPU) August Mellaz emphasized that the KPU has no intention of resigning the maximum determination of the 2024 election results to be announced on Wednesday, March 20 tomorrow.

"Friends, we were asked, there were also many news angles which later 'KPU pushed back everything'. There was no KPU to postpone it," said Mellaz at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the determination of the results of the national election went through a series of processes that had to be passed. For example, it must complete the recapitulation process. After that, the KPU will only proceed to the next process for determining the election results.

In addition, said Mellaz, the process of determining the election results could be announced immediately as soon as the national recapitulation is complete. However, there is an option to take a short break to rest while checking the completeness of the documents.

"What is clear is that the variables are the most decisive, namely the recapitulation. The deadline is until March 20, so if the recapitulation is complete, then we can continue the next process for determination," he said.
