Man Threatens Ex-wife With Firearms When Asking For Money From Selling House Arrested By West Aceh Police

Joint personnel from the West Aceh Resort Police arrested three men for possession of pistol-type firearms along with seven bullets from a number of separate locations in West Aceh and East Aceh Districts.

"We arrested the three suspects because previously they threatened Agusminar (54 years), a resident of Cot Jurumudi Village, Arongan Lambalek District, West Aceh Regency," said West Aceh Police Chief AKBP Andi Kirana as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 18.

The three people arrested each had the initials S (48 years), a resident of Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency, as the owner of the weapon and MN (42 years old), a resident of Meulaboh who was suspected of having participated in suspect S to buy firearms.

In this case, the police also arrested a man with the initials J (45 years old), a resident of Keudee Village, Pendawa District, East Aceh Regency, who is suspected of selling pistol-type firearms.

The amount of evidence confiscated included one pistol, one magazine, seven 9 millimeter caliber bullets, and one brown leather bag used to store firearms.

This case was revealed after the victim Agusminar, who is an ASN, reported to the police after being threatened by her ex-husband with the initials S using a firearm.

The case of threatening to use firearms was carried out by suspect S on Thursday morning, March 7, 2024, at around 09.00 WIB in Cot Jurumudi Village, Arongan Lambalek District, West Aceh Regency.

The police who had the identity of the perpetrator then hunted down the perpetrator and arrested S in a house in the Ujung Kalak Village area, Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency.

From the examination of S, the police arrested a colleague S with the initials MN (42 years) in Rundeng Village, Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency, and arrested suspect J in East Aceh Regency as a seller of firearms.

The police chief said the threat to Agusminard was suspected because S wanted to ask for the proceeds from the sale of the house that had been carried out by the victim.

Feeling no longer in a husband and wife relationship, the victim refused to give S the money he asked for and then S threatened the victim with the firearm he was carrying.

"In this case, the three suspects were charged with Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 1951 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for 20 years and or life imprisonment to the death penalty," said the Police Chief.
