NasDem Denies The Resignation Of Queen Wulla Candidates For The Most Votes For NTT II Electoral Districts Due To Forced

Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, denied the assumption that the resignation of Ratu Ngadu Bonu Wulla, a candidate who received the most votes from his party from the electoral district (dapil) of NTT II because he was forced.

Hermawi emphasized that Queen Wulla resigned because of her own desire. The Party's DPP, said Hermawi, only sent the resignation letter to the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"It was written on his own accord, with full awareness and all kinds of things. If you want to know in more detail, to the KPU, the letter is at the KPU," said Hermawi when met at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 15.

Hermawi said that the Queen, who initially met the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, had submitted her resignation letter as a candidate she had made.

"He came accompanied by her husband to bring his resignation letter, met and then my letter was accepted, then entered into the meeting with Mr (Surya Paloh)," said Hermawi.

The news of Queen Wulla's resignation as a candidate for the NasDem Party shocked many parties. The reason is, the Queen's vote has outperformed former NTT Governor Viktor Laiskodat, who ran with serial number 1.

Viktor gained 65,359 votes, while the Queen who sat at number 5 managed to bag 76,331 votes.

Queen Wulla's decision to resign gave Viktor a way for him to walk to Senayan. In fact, if not, the Queen could again qualify for parliament after occupying third place in total the most votes in the NTT II electoral district.

However, Hermawi asked all parties not to speculate that Queen Wulla's resignation was a scenario to pass Viktor to Senayan.

"I don't know either. It hasn't been determined by the KPU. Mr. Victor is one of the candidates, but yes, it's not certain, Mr. Victor," said Hermawi.

"Now the results of manual recapitulation are not certain, right? Where do we know that the Queen is a candidate. There is no such thing. There are only temporary results," he continued.
