Korlantas-Kemenhub Prepares Homecoming Flow Scheme, Only Private Cars And Buses Are Allowed Through Merak Port

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will implement a vehicle distribution scheme that will pass through Merak Port during the 2024 Eid Al-Fitr homecoming flow.

In that scheme, only private vehicles and buses can access Merak Port to Bakauhuni Port.

"First, vehicles directed through Merak Port, 4-wheeled private cars and buses," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Friday, March 15.

In the scheme agreed in the Joint Decree (SKB) on Road Traffic and Crossing Regulations, trucks will be directed to pass through Ciwandan Port.

The purpose of this type of vehicle sharing scheme is to prevent overcrowding.

"Vehicles directed through Ciwandan Port, motorbikes, trucks, and tengki and tronton trucks," he said.

Meanwhile, trucks with larger capacities are not allowed through Merak Port and Ciwandan Port. The type of vehicle will be directed to Bandar Bakau Jaya Port (BBJ).

"Furthermore, the vehicle directed through the port of BBJ or Bakau Bandar Jaya is a tengki tronton truck of more than 12 to 16 meters," said Trunoyudo.
