Joe Biden Congratulates Prabowo For Being Superior In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - United States President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (Joe Biden) congratulated Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto for his vote with Gibran Rakabuming Raka ahead in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Prabowo, who is running as a presidential candidate number 2 in the 2024 presidential election, currently gets 58.82 percent of the votes as the results of the recapitulation of the KPU as of Thursday at 19.30 WIB.

Biden conveyed congratulations to Prabowo through a letter submitted directly to Defense Minister Prabowo by the US Ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Yohannes Abraham during his visit to the Ministry of Defense office, Jakarta, Thursday, March 14.

Reported by ANTARA, in a letter coded "The White House" refers to the White House or the US Presidential Palace, Joe Biden congratulated the 2024 General Election which was successfully held properly.

"I congratulate the Indonesian people on the success of holding elections, which is a form of our joint commitment to democracy, and (congratulate also to, ed.) you are superior in the vote. I am waiting for the announcement of the official results," said Biden in his letter to Prabowo.

Biden, in his letter dated March 12, 2024, also mentioned the 75 years of friendship between Indonesia and the United States which was closely established because of the similarity of views on maintaining democratic values and diversity.

Biden believes that the US together with Indonesia can maintain world stability, including ensuring that the Indo-Pacific remains a free, open, prosperous and safe area.

Your support as defense minister in realizing these goals is very important. I look forward to the binding of two countries that are getting closer along with our efforts to implement the points of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation), as well as exploring new opportunities for cooperation, "said the US President to Prabowo.

Biden is optimistic that the world will be safer and the two countries will be stronger when Indonesia and the US unite.

He closed his letter with the best hope for Prabowo. "Hopefully in the future, the people of our two countries will always live in peace, prosper, and progress," said Biden closing his letter to Prabowo.
