TKN Prepares 36 Lawyers To Face Anies And Ganjar's Camp If They Apply For A Presidential Election Dispute To The Constitutional Court

JAKARTA - The Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) has prepared 36 lawyers or lawyers to face a lawsuit against the results of the 2024 presidential election from the presidential election number 1 Anies Baswedan and the presidential candidate team number 3, Ganjar Pranowo. If both of them apply for a dispute over the 2024 presidential election to the Constitutional Court (MK). This was conveyed by the Head of the TKN legal team, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, March 14. Yusril initially explained that his party was currently waiting for the KPU to officially announce the final results of the 2024 presidential election on March 20. The KPU's decree, he said, would be the object of a dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK). In the applicable regulations, said Yusril, parties who are dissatisfied with the KPU's decision can make a request to the Constitutional Court so that the KPU's decision is canceled and only given 3 days from March 20, 2024. "So on the 23rd, the petition must come in. And if the results remain as they are today, Prabowo Gibran is the winner, think of it like that. If for example, you can apply for an cancellation, only the parties who lose, in this case, Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Anies," said Yusril. "(But) we don't know if one of them will apply for a dispute or join (with the Prabowo-Gibran government), we don't know yet," he continued. Therefore, continued Yusril, it is his duty at the TKN to prepare lawyers or lawyers who have been formulated and draft their power of attorney. Soon, he said, the power of attorney will be submitted to Prabowo-Gibran as the elected presidential and vice presidential candidates to be signed. "There are about 36 people on standby. If they (Anies and Ganjar's camp, ed) on the 23rd will submit a dispute request to the Constitutional Court, we will also submit a letter to the Constitutional Court as the relevant parties who intervene," explained the General Chairperson of the United Nations. Yusril emphasized that as parties related to TKN Prabowo-Gibran, he is still in a position to wait for a lawsuit request. In this context, the 02 camp is parallel to the KPU as the relevant party and the respondent. "That must be decided by the deliberation meeting of the Constitutional Court judge, whether it will be accepted as a related party or not. Usually it is accepted, if it is accepted we will be present at the Constitutional Court, that is our position in line with the KPU. Because the applicants are Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Anies, the KPU. We are related parties who intervene," said Yusril. The constitutional law expert said that as parties related to the Prabowo-Gibran camp, they had the right to provide answers, responses, refute the evidence submitted by the applicant, and refute the witness statements given by the expert witnesses they submitted.

"And we can also submit evidence otherwise. So if they say there is fraud, we say this is not cheating, this is proof," concluded Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
