Selling Explosives Without Permission, A Youth In Banjarnegara Arrested During Transactions

BANJARNEGARA - A young man with the initials DS (21), a resident of Lemahjaya Village, Wanada District, Banjarnegara Regency, was arrested by the Banjarnegara Police for selling firecracker explosives without a permit.

Banjarnegara Police Chief AKBP Erick Budi Santoso said the pass was arrested on Tuesday, March 12, at around 15.30 WIB by the Banjarnegara Police Criminal Investigation Unit in The Pikas Adventure Resort Area Maduskara.

"In the month of Ramadan, officers received information that there was a powder seller who was suspected of being explosives for firecracker makers, then officers found out that there would be a sale and purchase transaction," said AKBP Erick Budi Santoso in a written statement, Wednesday, March 13.

After the officers arrived at the location, it was discovered that there was the transaction. Furthermore, the officers also secured the alleged perpetrator and the evidence.

"The suspect was taken to the Bajaranegara Police for further investigation, from the suspect's hands 2 kg of silver powder suspected of being explosives," he said.

The police chief explained that the suspect sold explosive powder (pesan) in a 1 kg plastic packaging.

"The suspect sold it at a price of Rp. 280 thousand/kg," he explained.

For this act, the suspect was charged with Article 1 paragraph (1) of Law 12/1951.

"The maximum prison sentence is 20 years," he said.

The response is part of the Operation Pekat Candi 2024 which will be held for 20 days from 6 to 25 March 2024 to maintain a safe and conducive security and security situation from community diseases in the jurisdiction of the Banjarnegara Police.

"We hope that it will create a sense of security, comfort and conduciveness so that the people of Banjarnegara while fasting Ramadan are calmer," he concluded.
