Acting Governor Of West Java Respects The Legal Process Regarding The Bandung Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna Being A Suspect At The KPK

BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin admitted that he did not know for sure regarding the appointment of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bandung City Ema Sumarna to be a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Bey said the West Java Provincial Government would fully respect the legal process related to Ema Sumarna's problems in the aftermath of the alleged corruption in the procurement of CCTV for the Bandung Smart City Program, which previously also ensnared former Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana.

"I haven't received any information, I just found out from the media. The point is we have to respect the legal process. Later if there is an official statement, I will tell you later," said Bey Machmudin at the Bandung Pusdai Mosque, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 13.

Asked about information regarding Ema Sumarna's resignation letter as Bandung Regional Secretary, Bey admitted that he had not received any files.

"Until today I have not received it. Don't make assumptions, we'll wait. The point is that's all, respect the legal process," he added.

The Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, has not detailed the names of the new suspects. He only revealed that there were suspects resulting from the development of Bandung Smart City corruption.

"Several parties have been named as suspects, both from the executive, the Bandung City Government, and from the legislature of the DPRD," he said.

From the data collected, Ema is not alone. There were four other people who were also named suspects by the KPK, from members of the Bandung City DPRD namely Riantono, Achmad Nugraha, Ferry Cahyadi and Yudi Cahyadi.
