Thousands Of People Visit The Thousand Islands During The Nyepi Long Holiday

JAKARTA - Thousands of people visited the Thousand Islands during the long holiday of Nyepi Day 2024 on Saturday (9/3) until Monday, March 11.

"In total there are 3,586 tourists visiting a number of locations in the Thousand Islands," said Head of the Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-dept., Sonti Pangaribuan in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 12.

He said the momentum of the long holiday was used by thousands of tourists to visit the Thousand Islands area.

He said that on Saturday, March 9, a total of 2,086 tourists visited, consisting of 2,011 domestic tourists and 75 foreign tourists.

Then on Sunday (10 September) there were 1,051 people visiting the Thousand Islands consisting of 945 domestic tourists and 106 foreign tourists.

Furthermore, on Monday (March 11) there were 449 people who visited consisting of 423 local tourists and 26 foreign tourists.

"They entered from Marina Ancol, Muara Angke, Tanjung Pasir and Cituis Port by ship," he said.

He said the majority of tourists visiting the Thousand Islands visited residents and resort islands.

"This tourist visit is predicted to continue to increase because access to the Thousand Islands is easy to reach, and the facilities provided make it easier for tourists to take a vacation," he said.
