Semarang City Government Sets THM Operational Hours During Ramadan, Discotheque Closes For The First 2 Days

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, has issued Circular Letter (SE) Number B/436/500.13.1/III/2024 which regulates the operating hours of entertainment venues during Ramadan 1445 Hijri. This rule is stipulated to respect and maintain conditions during the implementation of Ramadan worship.

According to the SE, entertainment venues such as discotheques, family karaoke, massage parlors, reflection massage parlors, spas, and billiards will operate with predetermined hours. To avoid miscommunication, the Mayor instructed the Semarang City Culture and Tourism Office to socialize this rule to entertainment venue entrepreneurs.

"I have ordered, don't let miscommunication occur in the field," said the number one person in Semarang City, saying that all entertainment entrepreneurs have understood the rule.

As implementation of the regulation, entertainment venues will close on the first two days of fasting and also during Eid al-Fitr. For example, this year, entertainment venues will be closed from 11-12 March 2024 for the beginning of fasting and 8-12 April 2024 for Eid al-Fitr.

The following are the operating hours set for entertainment venues during the month of Ramadan:

1. Discotheque: Open at 18.00-01.00 WIB

2. Karaoke family: Open at 15.00-24.00 WIB.

3. Reflection massage parlor: Open at 10.00-22.00 WIB.

4. Healthy spa: Open at 10.00-22.00 WIB.

5. Massage parlor: Open at 15.00-22.00 WIB.

6. Billiards place: Open at 10.00-24.00 WIB.

This rule aims to ensure a conducive atmosphere and respect the values of worship believed by the people of Semarang City during the month of Ramadan.
